With a sixth of the year under your belt, you have some perspective about how your course of action is working to move you toward your goals. What do you want the first quarter to say about your practice? In the next four weeks, you will have many opportunities to help people and reap appropriate rewards – how many of those situations will you notice, and how many that you notice will you act upon? It’s a batting average – no one gets all the prospective patients they try for, and everyone gets some of them.

It’s really a matter of refining your craft so you can be as effective as possible at influencing people so you create the chance to serve them. To grow yourself, pick out some weaker area, like increasing your confrontational tolerance, raising your standards on time management or neatness, or building resources like confidence, focus or enthusiasm. Commit to using one of the many identity-based tools, like affirmation, resource building, etc., and develop the qualities you need to the level you need them.

Now, imagine yourself applying the changes in specific situations, visualizing yourself performing magnificently, so you give your mind something specific to aim at. Olympic athletes, virtuoso musicians and successful entrepreneurs use this technique to master their art – do you think it might help you, too?

Don’t forget the natural marketing rhythms of the season. Spring signals rebirth, and people naturally gravitate toward an unfolding or awakening. Give them juicy ideas to nourish them and you will see them move toward the sunshine and blossom. Use metaphors from nature to illustrate the healing process, and dress up your patient education to make it more interesting, engaging and colorful.
